I first met Pastor Sam while I was selling chapatis (flat bread/wraps). At that time, I was working hard, but I wasn't making any profit. When Pastor Sam started a church, we began to pray there. In the beginning, I didn't attend every day, and I wasn't very involved in ministry. I was struggling so much that I often failed to pay my house rent.
However, our Pastor taught us how to pray and read the Bible. Brethren, as I prayed, I learned how to truly worship the Lord. I began to read the Word and developed faith for bigger things. I prayed and asked God to take away my current struggles and give me a better job.
I thank God that He heard my prayers! I found a job cooking for an Indian family. I was taught how to prepare Indian cuisine, and once I finished my training, I secured a good position.
Brethren, the blessings I have received are many. I love the Lord so much because when you ask, He truly hears you. I have since bought a plot of land and built my own house. I used to walk everywhere barefoot, but now I have my own boda-boda (motorcycle). When I go to work, I drive myself.
I thank God because He has been so good to me. You cannot imagine how I used to be—suffering with a business that made no money—but look at me now! I have a house, a boda-boda, and money in my pocket.
